Several months ago, I got the opportunity to try out Skin MD Natural lotion in order to review it here, on my blog.  I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to get around to finally writing this article, but I can assure you, that after all this time, my whole family has had the chance to really use this product, and I’m happy to share my thoughts.

Skin MD Natural is a unique product because it is a shielding lotion.  If you’re wondering what in the world that means, you can check out the detailed information at the Skin MD website, but in short, a shielding lotion “forms a protective barrier on the skin and keeps out irritants and chemicals.”  While traditional lotions simply add an external source of moisture, Skin MD Natural helps protect your skin and keeps your body’s own moisture inside.

When I first read up on Skin MD Natural, my first thought was that in order to do all this “shielding” it must leave some sort of unpleasant residue on your skin, but I was totally wrong.  Skin MD Natural is a pleasant, light-weight, non-greasy lotion.  It feels clean and cool on my skin – not at all sticky or heavy.

I used Skin MD Natural on a patch of eczema on my neck.  In a matter of days, the itchy patch of skin was both looking and feeling much better.  The lotion is both fragrance free and paraben free, so I decided to try it out on my infant son, who suffers from very sensitive skin, as well as numerous allergies and eczema.  After two applications, his skin looked great.  It wasn’t irritated from the lotion at all, and the dry patches on his legs had shrunk considerably.
