PillsOk, if there was one nutrition fact I thought I knew, it was that women should make sure they get plenty of calcium to help prevent osteoporosis. Now a study of post-menopausal women showed that ones who took calcium pills had significantly more heart attacks than women who took a placebo. There was some increase in strokes in the calcium group as well.

The study doesn’t look at pre-menopausal women, so it’s unclear what the impact might be in younger age groups. Just when I thought I was doing something healthy, it may come back to haunt me.  Wonderful.
