Project Time: Kid’s Art Display
Wednesday, January 2, 2008 13:48Like any good five-year-old, our oldest daughter produces art projects at an amazing rate. I was at a loss for where to display them all, and at the same time, I was searching for creative and inexpensive ways to decorate the bare walls in her bedroom. Eventually, a little inspiration hit, and this is what I came up with.
First, I bought a bunch of clothes pins and painted them with craft paint (Riley helped). Next I got a primed piece of MDF and painted it white. I drilled small wholes in the clothespins, and them screwed them into the white board at a variety of heights. Then I used to long screws to attach the whole thing to the wall. Riley added her art, and we were done. An art display and decorations for her wall, all for under $15.00!

Great idea! I am actually in the process of making something similar myself. I saw these at Pottery Barn a while back and they were soooo expensive, I was like “I can make that!” The only difference is I bought square metal clips rather than the clothes pins, but same idea! I just need to put it all together!

The metal clips are a good choice. The painted clothes pins look cute, but the kids have been a little hard on them, and one broke. I might even pull ours off and replace with metal clips when these have totally had it!
