Ringing in the New Year
Thursday, January 1, 2009 21:00I wanted to write a quick post tonight to wish you all Happy New Year and apologize for my absence over the last month. I know my daily posts for Blogging for Prematurity Awareness Month ended rather abruptly, and I figure I owe any one who’s still reading a bit of an explanation.
Near the end of November, I ran to a local home improvement store to meet my husband so we could pick out a new shelf for our bathroom. In the 30 minutes our house was empty, someone broke in, and we were robbed. Thankfully, they didn’t take anything with sentimental value (except my laptop . . . ), but they did make off with about 90% of our computer and photography equipment, as well as most of my husband’s podcasting gear. They also managed to do a great deal of damage to the computer which held all of our data.
We’ve spent the better part of a month getting everything replaced and put in order. Thankfully, no one was hurt, and we are finally up and running again. It’s still rather unnerving that someone came into our house and robbed us in the middle of the day! Add Thanksgiving, two birthdays, Christmas annd New Years to the mix, and we haven’t had much time to work lately, let alone blog.
I have a bunch of posts planned for the next month, and I hope that you’ll be back to check them out. I have several product reviews that are LONG overdue (I’m sorry!), as well as some articles planned about keeping your family safe and healthy in the new year.
Thanks for sticking with me, and best wishes for a fantastic 2009!
