Where Have I Been???
Well, I think life is finally starting to settle down. It looks like “maternity leave” is over, and I really need to start hacking away at all the web work that has been piling up over the past 9 weeks.
I am proud that despite all the distractions, we managed to get the first edition of the NICU 101 monthly newsletter out on November 5th as scheduled. There was a lot of last minute writing going on, and the whole newsletter format could still use some tweaking, but I was happy just to get it out.
Happily, we’ve seen an increase in traffic, and some good message board discussions since the newsletter went out. We’ve also had an increase in new subscriptions. We have a lot planned for the December issue, which should go out on December 3rd. I’ll keep you posted on the impact the newsletter is having on our traffic over the next few months.

I see you aren’t overwhelmed by commenters then, spammy or otherwise. One tip, it’s easier to keep track if there’s an option to tick a box to be informed by email if someone comments further, which I’m not seeing on your blog. I’m not seeing it on my blog either, I haven’t worked that one out myself yet!

No, unfortunately I’m not. The baby came just as I was starting to ramp up the marketing for this page. I’ll have to look into that option. I’m not sure how to make that work from scratch, but perhaps there is some code I can cut and paste from one of our other sites. Thanks- Kristie

Um. One has to wonder if the unfortunately-named Cheap Motor Scooters is commenting with the purest of motives. I suppose this will be from a cheapo spammer running an automated link-dropping program. I must get one! Heh-heh. Thanks for the advice about the subscribe to comments program, I’ve bookmarked it for when I next have a sesh on my blog.

It’s a setting in my do follow plugin. All posts are nofollow for the first 24 hours, so I have a chance to moderate out all the definite spam. Then it automatically takes the no follow out at the 24 hour mark.
